"The music industry blames illicit online file-trading for a dramatic fall-off in sales over the last several years"
Has the brilliant music exec considered that maybe most of the stuff they are putting out these days sucks? Lousy music = lower sales? Most of the music is so lousy I wouldn't even take it for free, let alone buy it. I'd rather listen to air that to listen to the crap they're releasing.

Then next paragraph: He said 7,000 people were sued in 2004 for sharing music illegally Of course he didn't tell you that all were settled out of court.
And: The music industry blames illicit online file-trading for a dramatic fall-off in sales
And then say: Kennedy estimated that 2004 global music sales were roughly flat, So, which is it? Sales either dropped off or they were flat. I've seen some evidence to suggest it is neither, certainly from a dollar standpoint they are making more money.
These guys are so full of it, and at the same time their greed has blinded them to reality. I agree with the poster above "new music stinks"! (for the most part)
