No problem.....
...... just another opportunity to avoid Rather, just in case I couldn't
find a better use of my time.

Rather Biased Reporter Just Won't Go Away
I'm glad Mark Cuban exposed his true colors by hiring this liberal clown! I'll make sure I remind all of my conservative (and independent) friends not to sign up for HDTV. We had 20 years of this guy arrogantly mouthing off with liberal commentary and diatribes with no accountability what so ever, until the age of the Internet. We don't need to listen to his b.s. all over again!!

Another child of the right-wing propaganda machine
Actually, throughout his career, which I watched from beginning to end, Rather did not indulge in partisan or ideological commentary. The right wing hated him because he rightly chose to report on stories that were often embarassing to the right, but as some wise person once pointed out, it's the facts that are liberally biased. Only wingnuts can perceive bias in straight news reporting because their own beliefs and behavior look ridiculous from any normal perspective.

So while I was no fan of Rather's delivery style, he was one of the last true reporters to be pushed off the air as the right-wingnuts consolidate their ownership of all media outlets and try to make us believe up is down. Anyone who interpreted his reporting as "biased" probably gets their news as packaged right-wing propaganda from the thugs at Fox and their recent wannabe's at MSNBC and CNN.

"Bungled"?
"clouded by fallout from a bungled report in September 2004 on President George W. Bush's military record. "

"Bungled"? I think the word they were looking for is "Fabricated". "Bogus" would also apply, as would a common phrase sharing its initials with *B*arbara *S*treisand.

There was no 'Bungling' involved in that 'report'. It was false, plain and simple. It was thoroughly discredited within hours of broadcast. The 'objective' members of the old media placed their petty political interests ahead of their dedication to serving the public by reporting the truth.
