DRM by any other name

is still DRM.

What about fair use laws?

People really do't need technology (that can't work) to try to limit what they do with what they purchase. Laws do just fine. Pirates aren't hindered by the broken technology anyway.

Pirates are not hindered one bit by these DRM technologies. What these people need to do is use Youtube and other media organizations as stopping grounds for their work, i.e. license Youtube and other online-media hosters, give them permission to put their stuff on their networks, with a little bit of a fee paid to them for doing so.
