Under the terms of the deal, worth $14.5 million over 2-1/2 years, CNET will provide AOL's proprietary service and its other Internet properties with customizable hardware and software buyer guides. CNET also will provide AOL.com with free software downloads, the company said in a statement.
CNET is the publisher of News.com.
In addition, content from CNET's Web sites will be featured on AOL's various services, and the agreement includes development of "AOL-related" content for CNET's television programming, the statement said.
