MSNBC loses identity for a day

  • Post a comment
Somebody at MSNBC forgot to tell InterNIC, the organization that oversees the registration of domain names, that the check was in the mail.

Last week, InterNIC announced that they would block access to sites that hadn't paid the $100 domain name registration fee. They made good on their threat yesterday, blocking access to the MSNBC site all day, when the joint venture between Microsoft and NBC was set to preview its site.

No word on who ponied up the money, but the site is back online. (Bill--can you spot me a hundred bucks?)
