  • Post a comment
Netscape and First Data's Card Services Group today announced the availability of a secure payment processing service for online merchants using one of Netscape's commercial server application suites.

Netscape's server suites include Merchant System, Istore, Publishing System, and Community System. With the new payment processing system, credit card information can be sent from a consumer's PC to one of these server systems. There, the data will be encrypted and routed to First Data's online real-time authorization system.

The service is available now to consumers with all major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diner's Club, Carte Blanche, and Japan Credit Bureau (JCB).

First Data can be reached at emerchant@firstdata.com.
