eBay, major networks mulling TV show

eBay is in talks with major networks to develop a TV show, a company spokesman said Tuesday.

The show will "involve some form of auction-style bidding," eBay spokesman Chris Donlay said. The San Jose, Calif.-based auction site has retained talent agency William Morris to develop the program.

Donlay declined to comment further on the show's details, but said eBay is in talks with all of the major TV networks, including ABC, CBS and NBC, among others. "It all depends on who steps up to the plate," Donlay said.

The news was first reported by Inside.com.

This is not eBay's first foray into TV. Less than a month ago, the company joined with Butterfield's, a subsidiary, and The History Channel to feature an item on the show "Lost and Found," to be auctioned on eBay the following week.
