Agency.com IPO delayed

The initial public offering for professional services firm Agency.com, expected to take place today, has been delayed pending final approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission, according to an underwriter.

A spokeswoman for Goldman Sachs--which is underwriting the IPO along with Salomon Smith Barney and Hambrecht & Quist--said today that the firm expects the offering to take place on Monday.

A spokeswoman for Agency.com declined comment, citing an SEC-mandated "quiet period."

New York-based Agency.com, which helps clients with online branding, content, transactions and customer service, yesterday upped the target price for its shares from $10 to $12 each to $22 to $24 apiece.

The IPO comes as other Net services firms, such as Viant, Scient, Razorfish and Proxicom, have enjoyed success on Wall Street this year.

Services firm Organic Online last month also filed with the SEC for an initial public offering.

Agency.com, founded four years ago, is expected to trade its 5.9 million shares on the Nasdaq under the symbol "ACOM."
