The elites of Silicon Valley are starting to give their attention and money this political season, as issues such as offshore outsourcing grab headlines.

- They want the whole population to work at Wal-Mart wages...
- Ordinary Joes who hear plutocrats like Andreeson talking about outsourcing "raising productivity and creating jobs" know exactly how this formula works: the jobs they keep in America other than their own will be paid Wal-Mart wages, no benefits, and be made to work longer hours ("productivity"). Their Republican Congress has already trashed all of the social safety net that once held workers over until Wal-Mart has a place for them. Outsourcing has become a symbol to the public of how little Big Business cares about them and the folks in Silicon Valley would do well not to even mention it in polite company if they don't want to be sucked into the economic "perfect storm" that's sinking Dubya...
