Are for companies that can't do it themselves. It's ironic that companies that start out as great inventors end up buying products to sell.

As for 5%. I can get that kind of return at my bank. HP needs to be in it's business for the love of it. If it's just about money...they could liquidate and put their assetts into a nice fund and earn better returns.
