To the extent that...
... three Chinese PC manufacturers announced plans to buy a total of over $400 million worth of Microsoft Windows operating system software over the next three years and Lenovo Group, China's largest PC maker, is expected to announce a similar deal on Monday...,"; there is quite apparently meaningful purposefulness in having centralized development and deployment of Operating Systems such as Windows and IBM OS/2 Warp Operating Systems.... just as from Chairman MAO's Democratic Centralism Philosophy - development and deployment from the bottom to the top! Lets see if "Redmond" reads into "ERR" limitations of VISTA and OFFICE!

Will this be a special Chinese version of Windows?
That might cause some extra work for Microsoft. They'll
have to check through all the docs and help files to
make sure there aren't any dirty words like "democracy",
"Tibet" or "Taiwan".
For instance, DRM will have to be called something else,
since it refers to "rights", which might be considered a
coded reference to human rights.
Also, they might need to revise the Internet software to
give the Communist Party a backdoor or automatically log
and report any visits to banned websites.

Seems to me that the American version will be just fine...
... considering the fact that we are seeing the greatest perversion of democratic values in the US; rights, while still largely in place, can be revoked on a whim in the name of the fight against global terrorism; and back doors... well the less said about that the better - we all know that color lasor printers leave a cookie trail for the US government to follow, we all know that electronic communication is monitored by the US government, and we all know that there exists a back door to a number of popular commercial software that can only be accessed by US government agents (with an appropriate warrant, we are told)

Microsith Emperior : Chinese Emperior
China's President? Since when does China have "free" elections & a democratic society?

China has one of the worst human rights violations of any major power country in the world.

Citizen Gates donates millions of dollars through his foundation for human rights & medical issues throughout the world?

When it comes to money & illegal monopolistic dominance to maintain their control of the masses through their evil empires.... Then "can't we just be friends?"

Hypocritical slimeballs.

A reward for exposing disidents?
Microsoft gave the Chinese Communist government
key information that help them identify, capture
and imprison Chinese who posted messages
criticizing their government's actions. So much
for the Chinese Constitution which guarantees
"free speech". It is also obvious that
Microsoft will sell freedom itself down the
river for an extra buck.

With "friends" like Microsoft, freedom needs no
enemies.
