DEMO 96: Teknema shows off Net appliance

INDIAN WELLS, California--Teknema showed off its Easy Rider Internet device at Demo 96 here today. Slated for delivery in the second quarter of this year, Easy Rider will come with 4MB of RAM, a modem link to the Internet, a VGA display, a keyboard, and a mouse.

Officials from the company said the device would sell for less than $500. Easy Rider with be powered by the ARM microprocessor from ARM, Ltd.

Teknema plans to license the Easy Rider technology to computer manufacturers and online service providers.
