Business application software maker SAP continues to court small businesses.

Today, the company announced that it has teamed up with Compaq Computer (CPQ) to offer an all-in-one business application bundle to small businesses.

The companies announced Ready-to-Run R/3; R/3PAQ, a combination of SAP's R/3 business applications, Microsoft's Windows NT operating system; and database software running on a Compaq ProLiant Server. The bundle also includes consulting services.

The deal is the second announced by SAP aimed at small businesses. The company has entered into a similar deal with IBM to offer Ready-to-Run R/3 on IBM's AS/400 servers, and to link users of Lotus Notes and SmartSuite applications to R/3 data.

SAP said the R/3PAQ system will drastically reduce the time it takes to install and configure an R/3 system. The company said the package could trim implementation efforts by 20 to 25 days, on average.

The package is being distributed by systems integrator Inacom.

Pricing was not immediately available.
