    PC-Tel, maker of software-based modems, will support Microsoft's Windows NT 4.0. Designed for the company's PCT2881 and PCT 388 products, the software will operate at a rate of 33.6 kbps (PC-Tel intends to upgrade to 56 kbps once the ITU standard becomes available next year). The software's drivers, which enable the software to work with a variety of modems, will be available through the Web sites of PC-Tel or the original equipment manufacturers. The PC-Tel Windows 4.0 drivers will be available free of charge at the end of August.
