    High-performance storage system start-up BlueArc announced Wednesday that Gianluca Rattazzi is the company's new president and chief executive officer. He replaces Enrico Pesatori, who now is vice chairman of the board.

    Rattazzi has been chairman since February 2000 and will continue in that post. Previously, he was CEO of Meridian Data, the company that built the Snap line of network-attached storage devices now sold by Quantum.

    Phone.com today announced that Don Listwin, formerly executive vice president at Cisco Systems, has joined Phone.com as president and chief executive. Former CEO Alain Rossmann, Phone.com's founder, remains as the chairman of the board and will become the executive vice president of strategy and corporate development. Also announced today is the promotion of Phone.com's chief financial officer, Alan Black, to senior vice president of corporate affairs. Black will also retain his position and responsibilities as chief financial officer.
