'Slammer' worm hits Net

In the largest such incident since 2001, the Slammer worm--also known as Sapphire--caused chaos within many corporate networks. Although the impact faded quickly, the fallout hasn't stopped. Microsoft and a group that dispenses security information have been in the critics' crosshairs.
